As a gag during the lead-up to the 2004 Election, I ran a number of posts in my journal touting an "Allah
Sulu for President" campaign. This icon in support of that was created by ducttapeavenger and ganked for use by a
number of people.
aphrodite_76 contributed this icon (creator
unknown) for use as a campaign slogan.
Continuing the campaign motif, I created this icon to pander to my religious base (I am God of Vodka,
after all).
Rounding out the original batch of campaign-themed icons was this McVodka icon provided by thetaet, so that I too could sell out to
corporate special interests.
A common bit of wisdom ("I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy") as a church sign. I made another sign with the slogan "When the load gets tough, the
tough get loaded."
A parody of the Sirius Black wanted poster from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (I created
this not long before the movie came out, inspired by the poster's appearance in the trailer). I felt like
doing something different and ambitious, and this one certainly took more work than the typical icon. I'm
not actually saying anything, by the way, so don't expect to find anything funny by reading my
lips…
This icon is sethcohen (a.k.a. mib_khan) photoshopped into a "Khaaaaaan!!" t-shirt (inspired by
this, obviously). It's cheaper than buying the shirt, right?
"Kill Bill volume 2000XP" is a clip from the movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut showing
Bill Gates getting shot in the head – this one was inspired by gwiii.
I created this icon is for die7fox (a.k.a. Chris Benton, the Homo of
Happiness). It's a parody of the Denton "Home of Happiness" billboard from The Rocky Horror Picture
Show and Shock Treatment.
The hypnotic bouncepogo's icons. I changed the colors and
added a border to make a second parody of the Sirius Black wanted poster from Harry Potter and the
Prisoner of Azkaban.
This icon was made right after I saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and combines
that movie with The Rocky Horror Picture Show by portraying the steps to "The Time Warp" in the
style of the Marauder's Map. (My first idea for a Marauder's Map parody was to use the name "Allah Sulu"
and show footprints staggering drunkenly along (perhaps even falling on their butt), but I think this is
funnier and more creative.
This picture is gwiii (a.k.a. notchad) administering some "thorazine" (his
euphemism for violently-induced unconsciousness). This picture was taken at Marcon, where gwiii was playing Raven from Snow Crash (The
tattoo across his forehead says "Poor Impulse Control", as per the book; but the tats on his hands say
"Hate" and "More Hate", a parody of "Love" and "Hate" from Rocky Horror).
This is me as a Chippendale's dancer (scary!)
I created this icon for buffy_borg, somebody else's role-playing
journal.
This is a Kids In The Hall-inspired icon which allows me to crush gwiii's head. I made a couple of different
versions of this icon, for people who wanted to crush other peoples' heads ( aurienne wanted one with ironkite's head, for instance).
In retaliation for the previous icon, gwiii made this icon using footage from Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you look closely, you can see
that the Misato is wearing a "rude" t-shirt – that's a sort of an inside joke. ( gwiii has his own icon gallery page.)
Satchel from the syndicated comic Get
Fuzzy.
A frame from the webcomic Sinfest.
On the day that Bad Santa (and the unrated version, Badder Santa) were released on DVD, I
created Baddest Santa starring myself.
A new FWOOSH icon for cmndrcuddles: this one has Office Depot on
fire.
I made this FWOOSH icon while LiveJournal was having yet another
of its even-worse-service-than-usual phases. A lot of people wanted to use this one.
Obviously, I was just looking for trouble at this point – I took another one of gwiii's icons and parodied it, changing the crowd's
signs from "GWIII" to "HUH?" ( gwiii's has his own icon gallery page.)
lots42 made an icon implying that if I wrote for
The X-Men, the characters would all be drunk. I don't know where he gets these ideas.
I made this icon using the Tombstone Generator.
I made this allah_sulu icon in the style of the Kenya cartoon.
"Burqa Furter" is a costume which I wore (and which won a prize) at a Rocky Horror convention in
New York City.
After I saw a number of people on my friends list with kaleidoscopic icons they had made using this site, I made a kaleidoscopic icon with many
multicolored repetitions of the word "HUH?"
This icon was made from three sonagrams taken of my unborn child in August of 2004.
This icon is allah_sulu created with the Portrait Avatar Maker (wings and Santa hat
added manually). It looks kind of goofy and misshapen (maybe even, dare I say it, chibi), but it
fits a full-body charicature into an icon size without losing a lot of detail (unlike the ones that
require a lot of cropping and shrinking).
This icon is my homage to the anime series Chobits.
This is a picture of me kissing my wife rich_teaboy. It was taken at The Rocky
Horror Picture Show and ant1banana converted it into an icon.
This is forkintheroad with her husband major_beefcake. I made this icon to
commemorate her thirtieth birthday; the blinking light (a "life clock") in the palm of her hand is a
reference to the movie Logan's Run.
She preferred a more generic image, however, so I made another blinking Logan's Run icon from an
actual shot from the movie.
This is branwynelf, in yet another icon that's
based on my original parody icon of the Sirius Black wanted
poster from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. robkaiote shot a video clip of branwynelf with her video camera ("me
being happy at finding the B&B site for the wedding"). hobbitblue and forestwalker shrunk it down to icon size for
her, since she was unable to get it below LiveJournal's 40K icon
filesize limit. I took that icon, cropped and shrunk it a little more, changed the color palette, and
added the poster border.
This is the flag of The Free Land
of Allah Sulu, from when I played NationStates. (The
abbreviations stand for "Mind Your Own Business" and "Bring Your Own Beer".)
This is hurricane Frances approaching Florida, during the 2004 hurricane season. I combined that with a
shot of Uncle Jimbo from South Park.
ducttapeavenger made an updated version
of his "Allah Sulu for President" icon after a poll selected bradwinkle as my running mate.

I cleaned up an icon that aimeegomeow was using (credited to aeolianafay) and then changed the word
"republican" to "drunken" – part of my " allah_sulu for President" campaign. The reason
I had to "clean up" the original was that it had been saved as a JPEG, which is really unnecessary for
this kind of image. Solid colors become spotty, edges blur, and so on. My final image is a GIF; for the
most part, it's in three colors, except for some shades of gray and pink around the curvature of the
letters. No degradation. (The majority of my icons at this point were in GIF, rather than JPEG format.
Later, I started using PNG files as well.)
In reference to one of the 2004 Presidential debates, I asked techempage, "Which one yelled 'San Dimas high
school football rules' at the end? I think he won." He was amused, and thought that would make a great
icon. crystalsage responded first, with an icon of
John Kerry holding his first in the air with that line as a caption. I followed up with an icon of George
W. Bush behind a podium with the same caption. techempage adopted both of them. (He asked
people which they preferred; the democrats favored the one with Kerry and the republicans favored the one
with Bush. I had expected the complete opposite to occur, since in my eyes, it seemed to be mocking the
candidates to have them yelling the dumb jock line from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.)
This is another sonagram of my baby son, with the Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys added to the
bottom in silhouette.
Another icon for the allah_sulu / bradwinkle campaign. The animated map was
cropped out of a banner ad for some election site; I just added the text.
A Calvin and Hobbes comic strip which made me laugh, so I iconized it.
I made this Wicked icon for divaclef. It's Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the
West (before the events of The Wizard of Oz) done up in South Park style (I did a Google image search for the background).
chuckdarwin took a series of photographs of
his daughter in mid-leap. I thought they would look good animated; so I cropped and resized them and
strung them together.
This is my parody of an ubiquitous series of iPod ads. "The drunk just got drunker!"
Semaphore message: "MORALE LOW SEND VODKA".
This was the punchline from a General Protection Fault webcomic.
Most of die7fox's icons are pictures of either Mojo Jojo
or of himself. I fused the two together into this, the one essential icon for him. I call it "Mojo
Bento" (since die7fox's last name is "Benton"). A Google image search failed to turn up a suitable (to me) background,
so I left it orange.
The last of two "Allah Sulu for President" icons made by gwiii before the election. ( gwiii has his own icon gallery page.)
gwiii took my animated electoral vote map icon and
created this one, which he called "How Allah Sulu will win the Election." (Utah is the last state to
succumb due to those "dern Mormons" who don't drink alcohol.)
