Allah Sulu's Icon Gallery

This is ~~circle_k~~, cropped from a larger image of himself that was taken while he was in an assimilated state. In fact, the original photo of himself, drunk and in allah_sulu "gear", was part of the inspiration for me to take a photo of myself likewise accoutred for my eventual "unmasking". This also marks the beginning of other people playing making their own icons with allah_sulu memes.

ares_dot_com, inspired by the above and seeking revenge for my unauthorized assimilation of him, made his own icon blending his character image with his real image (with a little slander thrown in for good measure). Fortunately, I was too ~~mature~~ drunk to respond in kind and escalate the matter…

shalafi49 took a Dilbert icon belonging to purplefreak and did his own assimilation – turning Dilbert into himself and Dogbert into an allah_sulu caricature. (The Mountain Dew can was added as a reference to j_brew).

This is a picture of cargoddess and tez. I assimilated a larger picture of them first, and then made an icon-sized version of it.

These are wugabear's daughters. Note that I did not portray them smoking, as they are too young. (After doing this and the previous icon back-to-back, I declared it a "double-shot" week; and only assimilated icons with two people in them for the rest of the week.)

Frodo and Sam from The Lord of the Rings, dedicated to all of the slashers and Frodophiles on my friends list. Note that this and the previous two images all kept the original backgrounds, which is actually a lot of extra work (since the wings have to go in between the people and the background).

I did not portray these two smoking either, because their mouths are full. I did not keep the original background, because the original icon was not wide enough to accomodate the wings. The original was a Calvin Klein ad, which I saw agroupie using as an icon (I had to remove the CK logo).

Calvin and Hobbes, the last of the double-shots. I left off the wings, since I didn't like the way they came out when Hobbes was facing away from the viewer. I drew the hats by hand for each frame.

This icon is actually the first animated GIF that I ever made, back in the early 90s. Since I had no access to a scanner, I faxed a picture of sethcohen into my PC (which resulted in a crappy black and white image). I originally used it to create a Windows 3.1 icon (which is why it has a 32x32 size, and uses the standard Windows 16-color palette). The style of animation was inspired by Terry Gilliam's Monty Python renderings.

I was reminded of the above GIF because sethcohen had dug it up to use as an LJ icon (he had saved it on one of his web pages). I decided that he needed an updated and assimilated version, so I made a new animation of him with gaping mouth and bugging eyes. The background is a couple of alternating pictures taken in front of the White House (from left to right: hikeeba, gwiii, allah_sulu, and blargblarg). I chose the background because Seth had just made a couple of political jokes, and because I couldn't think of anything better to use off the top of head.

This is a picture of kyrene pasted into a rose frame from the anime series Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena).

I made this icon for agroupie when she became one of the first of my Rocky Horror castmates to get onto LiveJournal. I simply animated the sleeves from three Little Nell singles.

I made this icon for the peep_peep community at thetaet's request (it's an inside joke).

When the My Fandom… meme spread all over LiveJournal, I felt the need to spoof it. I picked one of the most well-known characters (apart from Saint Nick himself) ever to wear a Santa hat, and built an icon around him. "You're a mean one, allah_sulu!" I hear you cry…

nostradomnatrix suggested this caption (she said "ass", but I thought the word "bum" went better with "pee-pee"). I chose Pee-Wee Herman for the backdrop.

This "Fandom" icon was dedicated to bouncepogo, who brought up the subject of shower urination in a poll.

I made a new, improved version of my "morph" icon, which goes back and forth between my South Park Studio image and a real picture of me. I like this one better than the last one (in both cases, it was a pain keeping the image under 40K).

"Since he spins other people's icons, I thought I'd spin his," said unhappymeal. He made this "assembly of the vodka god" icon – or perhaps it's a deconstruction.

This is an assimilated Blue Devil, the Duke University mascot – I made this one because techempage is a huge Duke basketball fan. Note that I finally got a different Santa hat to use in the assimilation – over time, I've assembled a collection of Santa hat and angel wing clip art.

The is a fake Hollywood "Walk of Fame" star (make your own HERE).

This is an assimilated Angel from the Sexy Losers webcomic's artwork page.

This is an assimilation of Weebl.

This icon, entitled "I Do", is a picture of my wife (rich_teaboy) and I exchanging our vows. Also visible, in back to the left, is my best man gwiii.

This icon was created with the Hero Machine (though I had to add the Santa hat and doobie, as they were not standard options – very few avatar generators have all of the allah_sulu details, so I always have to do some customizing afterwards). The kanji to the right (nani, rhymes with "Johnny") translates as "What?" or "HUH?" – I've been looking for an excuse to use that one. (Images from Hero Machine lose a lot of detail when they're shrunk down this much; when I've used it for other icons, I only kept the image from the waist up.)

After I assimilated Weebl (above), declaring "All your pie are belong to us", prodigy69 created another Weebl assimilation of his own– this time a Borg assimilation (from Star Trek).

In response to the above, I assimilated one of prodigy69's icons: Captain Caveman.

At rvdammit's request, I assimilated the Count (from Sesame Street).

bouncepogo saw this frantically bouncing woman in a banner ad, and asked me to make an icon out of her. I cropped it out into an icon, and then assimilated it.

This is insane Roman Emporer Gauis Caligula Caesar, which I made for my mother-in-law. I thought it was funny and clever to spell HVH? with a "V" instead of a "U" – but then, I'm easily impressed.

lots42 made this HUH? icon from a frame of the webcomic Sluggy Freelance.

This was the first of several icons made spoofing the I Am Sex… meme. This one is based on the anime Ranma ½ about a boy who fell into an accursed spring and now turns into a girl when he gets wet. (The panda is his father, also a curse victim.)

After I posted the previous icon to iamsexiamwrong, thevats questioned the phrasing of my caption – so I did another.

I made this icon from someone's xeroxed chest.

A picture of me having a blond moment (my wife bleached my hair before I played the part of Rocky in The Rocky Horror Picture Show).

Responding to robont's generosity, someone said, "That's a new hat for you, playing Santa Claus"– How could I resist an opening line like that? (It also seemed appropos to have a woman flashing her chest in the background.)

The Time Warp steps (from The Rocky Horror Picture Show) is a GIF that I made long before I got onto LiveJournal – but I've since used as an LJ icon.

This is me as Ryoga Hibiki from Ranma ½. He is also cursed; when he gets wet he turns into a small black pig named P-Chan. (The girl on the left is agroupie). Click HERE for the full-sized picture.

Another Ranma ½ icon; this one an assimilation of Ranma's father Genma in panda form. Again, that kanji (pronounced nani, rhymes with "Johnny") translates as "What?" or "HUH?"

Another Sluggy Freelance icon – this was from a filler strip with Kiki the ferret as a Green Lantern, in outer space. I provided the animation, by cutting her body into three pieces.

I took one of my wife (rich_teaboy)'s icons and added an animated homage to Penn & Teller.

This icon was made from a picture of thetaet and I drinking shots of chocolate vodka. Note that we're both wearing matching Santa hats and HUH? t-shirts.

This is allah_sulu made out of Legos. I used the Mini-Mizer to create this image. Note that they added the Santa hat to that program at my request…

I put way too much effort into this assimilation of Bart Simpson. To make sure that all of the pieces were in the same style, I copied the Santa hat off of a picture of Homer dressed as Santa, and I copied the wings off of an angel statue from another episode of The Simpsons. I don't remember whether or not I also made sure to use the proper font…

Another set of cute kids assimilated – these belong to ~~branwynelf~~ (who is a huge fan of the Sharks, so I used the arena where they play as a background).

(I'd also been meaning to make an icon for her for a while, since we are kindred spirits as gods of alcohol, so with this one I got two birds stoned at once – or whatever the metaphor is…)
